A practical guide for first-time and returning users

Pick 2D or 3D from the toolbar, set color and stroke width, and start working. This page explains the basics for each mode, plus how to save a sketch you can share or attach elsewhere.

Common

Select 2D or 3D at the top.
Use the color picker and width slider to style strokes.
When done, use Download to save PNG, or Clear to reset the board.

Switching between 2D and 3D remounts the board for that mode, so save anything important as an image before you switch if you want to keep it. There is no cloud account storage in the current version.

2D whiteboard

2D mode is best for UI frames, notes, arrows, and flat diagrams. Drag on the canvas to draw. A short click without dragging does not create a stroke, so accidental taps are less noisy.

Draw — Drag on the canvas to draw strokes.
QuickShape — Draw something like a circle, rectangle, triangle, or line, then hold still without releasing to snap it into a clean shape. Release immediately to keep the freehand stroke. After a snap, you can keep adjusting size or the line endpoint while the pointer stays down.
Eraser — Switch to the eraser tool and drag over strokes to remove them.
Select — Double-click a stroke’s edge (not the empty inside of a closed shape) to select one item. Right-drag a rectangle to select every stroke the box touches. Selected strokes show a blue glow.
Edit selection — Drag a single selected stroke to move it. Use Backspace/Delete to remove, and Cmd/Ctrl+C, V, or X to copy, paste, or cut. Paste places the copy near your pointer.

3D whiteboard

3D mode is for rough spatial ideas: character massing, props, or how objects sit together. Drag a shape from the left palette onto the floor plane to place it. Newly placed shapes are selected so you can transform them right away.

Place — Drag a shape from the left palette onto the canvas.
Select — Click a shape to select it. Click empty space or press Esc to deselect.
Transform — With a selection, use W move, E rotate, and R scale gizmos.
Camera — With nothing selected, move with WASD and Q/E, orbit with right-drag. Adjust speed with the toolbar slider.
Duplicate — In move (W) mode, hold Space while dragging to copy and move a shape.
Fill — Select a shape, then pick a color from the toolbar.

Saving a sketch for AI or sharing

When your drawing is ready, use Download to export a PNG. You can attach that file to an AI coding chat, a ticket, or a message so others (or a model) can see the layout or character you meant — not only a text description.

If you only need a quick capture, a screenshot also works, but the built-in PNG download is usually cleaner for attaching to tools. Remember that clearing the board or leaving the session can remove unsaved work.

Tips

Use 2D for quick notes; 3D for spatial layout and structure.
Download important sketches often — board content lives in the browser session by default.
